Buttons bring people together. We’ve been saying that for years, but sometimes it’s still surprising how people from all walks of life find commonality in making and sharing great buttons. And it’s because of those buttons that we have the opportunity to work with amazing people every day. Case in point: legendary design Milton Glaser‘s participation in this year’s Button-O-Matic series.
Glaser is best known for the iconic “I (heart) NY” logo, as well as the psychedelic Bob Dylan portrait and countless other images and campaigns, and his interest in ethics in design and commitment to bringing attention to important social issues is an inspiration to us. We’ve actually been making buttons with his artwork for many years through our work with the fine folks at Brooklyn Brewery, who Glaser designed branding for.
We were thrilled that Milton Glaser was game to contribute a design to this year’s Button-O-Matic series. His “Moon” button is simple, clever and as iconic as the designer himself. We hope that it will some day be counted among the pantheon of his great design achievements so far.
